Who am I? I'm a 43 year-old mother and social/cultural entrepreneur. I run my own arts organisation, Diverse City, which aims to make performing arts accessible to all. I am a theatre director, lecturer and facilitator. I am passionate about ensuring that everyone has access to the performing arts. For me, creating access means a focus on young people from working class backgrounds, people with disabilities and ex-offenders.
Three years ago, when my daughter was born, I uprooted my life and work by relocating from London to a small seaside town in Dorset.
I have been a leader for most of my career, firstly as course leader of a university theatre department, later through running my own company.
I am Artistic Director of The Remix, an inclusive performance company for young people with and without disabilities. Previously Head of Performing Arts at London Metropolitan University; Course Leader in Performing Arts, Coleg Harlech, University of Wales. I was a Clore Fellow 2011/12.
